New

  •  Added a MaxKillZ as a failsafe in case anyone gets stranded in-orbit (will still resolve any such cases individually)

ARK: Survival Evolved Patch 208.3

Bugfixes

  • Fixed “Survival of the Fittest” Server crash
  • Fixed inaccuracy on clients display of “Repair” cost (where it would show tooltip for a Structure as needing repair but it wouldn’t actually need repair).

(Original Announcement on Steam)

Here are the patchnotes of the previous patch (208.1)

Dino Dossier: Arthropluera

Common Name: Arthropluera
Species: Arthropluera Felsanguis
Time: Early Permian
Diet: Carrion Feeder
Temperament: Aggressive
Domestication
Tameable: Yes
Rideable:

Yes

  • Wild: The fact that this creature exists is enough to give me nightmares. Like the island's other Arthropods, Arthropluera Felsanguis has become much larger than I might have believed possible. It's a very aggressive hunter, but prefers to eat meat after it has rotted for some time, and will voraciously seek out such delicacies.
  • Domesticated: Like most of the arthropods on the island, Arthropleura is simple minded and relatively easy to tame. It is an almost entirely military mount, useful mostly for attacking at a distance. Thanks to its unique defenses, whether hunting or warring, Arthropleura is generally safe from all but the largest of creatures.
  • Known Information: Arthropleura's blood has a very low pH, to the point that it can dissolve many materials. This acidic blood splashes back on anything that directly attacks it, weakening the durability of weapons and hurting attackers. Many creatures thusly refuse to prey on Arthropleura, fearing this unique defense. If that wasn't enough, Arthropleura also keeps a small reservoir of blood ready to spit at its prey.

Drops

  • Raw Meat
  • Chitin

Dino Dossier: Eurypterid

Common Name: Eurypterid
Species: Jaekelopterus Euryperus
Time: Silurian
Diet: Carnivore
Temperament: Aggressive if approached
Domestication
Tameable: No
Rideable: No
  • Wild: Found only in the deepest depths of the waters around the island, Eurypterids are dangerous and adaptable Arthropods. As likely to hunt as they are to scavenge, a Eurypterid rarely has difficulty finding food to keep itself nourished, even at the bottom of the ocean.

  • Domesticated: While Eurypterid are not intelligent enough to be tamed, This doesn't mean they are without utility for tribes. They are a wonderful source of Chitin, and their digestive tract often contain silica pearls. They sometimes even have incredibly rare Black Pearls used for manufacturing mysterious technologies, making them among the most valuable creatures on the island.

  • Known Information: A Eutryterid's threat does comes not directly from its raw strength. Instead, it combines a hard defensive exoskeleton with debilitating poison to powerful effect. The sting of a Eurypterid increases torpor while reducing stamina, quickly rendering its opponent unable to defend itself.

Drops

  • Raw Meat
  • Chitin

  • New Primitive Server INI:http://pastebin.com/RSscMfB7

Dune Buggy and Dragon

  • Driveable Dune Buggy Modding example (we’ll let modders have the first crack at vehicles with this example
(also available for server admins to spawn for experiments, and so is the Dragon)
cheat spawnactor "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Dragon/Dragon_Character_BP.Dragon_Character_BP'" 1 1 1
cheat giveitem "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/Vehicles/VH_Buggy/Blueprint/PrimalItemVHBuggy.PrimalItemVHBuggy'" 1 1 false -- for proper driving physics on dedicated servers, highly recommend that server admins who use the Buggy run their server with INI change:
"steamapps\common\ARK\Projects\ShooterGame\Sav ed\C onfig\WindowsServer\Engine.ini"
[/script/engine.physicssettings]
Server_MaxSubsteps=5
Server_MaxSubstepDeltaTime=0.1

Build-on-Saddle / Saddle Platform

  • Collidable Saddle Platform & Build-on-Saddles: make your big brontos and plesios into mobile bases, build just about anything up from them! Build ladders to climb up onto them, whatever -the possibilities are nearly endless!!! We originally were gonna limit it to sleeping bags and turrets, but let’s just go all-out and make it work with everything, like so:

Dino Dossier: Therizinosaur

Common Name: Therizinosaur
Species: Therizinosaur Multiensis
Time: Late Cretaceous
Diet: Herbivore
Temperament: Aggressive
Domestication
Tameable: Yes
Rideable: Yes
  • Wild: I’m not entirely sure how Therizinosaur Multiensis stays populated on the island. It is surprising slow for it’s size, and is a solitary creative (so no pack to back it up). I suppose the fact that it’s sheer power rivals Tyrannosaurus is the only thing that allows this very aggressive medium-sized herbivore to thrive on the island. The claws of Therizinosaur are some of the most versatile biological tools I’ve encountered, as adept at removing trees and foliage from Therizinosaur path as they are at piercing the thick shells and hide of the island’s most defensive creatures if backed into a fight.

  • Domesticated: A tamed Therizinosaur is one of the most versatile mounts a survivor can have. It can be trained to use it’s claws brutally or delicately, allowing the rider to primarily harvest the specific kinds of resources that he or she needs, with abnormally extreme of resource that he or she needs, with abnormally extreme efficiency. And in combat, these same claws can piece straight through. The toughest armor. This flexibility more than makes up for it’s inability to carry the large loads of the islands many herbivorous pack beasts.

Cheats- and Itemlist Update

We know, many of you want to take a quick peek through the items in singleplayer, before spending engram points in multiplayer. ARK offers this, but requires you to know the ID for the item.

Because ARK is still in early development, there are a lot of new items, every week.

We’ve updated the item and the cheat command lists today and added everything already implemented. Take a peek.

Thanks to Madman who always helps us with the ID lists in our forums. 🙂

Dino Dossier: Megaloceros

Common Name: Megaloceros
Species: Megaloceros Latuscoronam
Time: Pliocene
Diet: Herbivore
Temperament: Skittish
Domestication
Tameable: Yes
Rideable: Yes
  • Wild: Megaloceros Latuscoronam is a very skittish herbivore, found mostly in the forests and mountains of the island. Because of its large size, its fraught demeanor would be strange in any other place. But Megaloceros knows how fierce the predators if the island are, and knows that it is safer to flee from them than to risk its life in a fight.
  • Domesticated: Megaloceros is a jack-of-all-trades creature, and many who ride it value its versatility. It is decently powerful, and its resilience, speed, and ability to jump often come in handy. Finally, its charging horn attack tends to cause targets to "bleed", decreasing their health, stamina, and speed until healed!
  • Known Information: The horns of Megaloceros are very large, and make for an excellent source of Keratin. This, of course, makes it a valuable resource. Unfortunately, hunting Megaloceros is not easy because of their quick speed and ability to bound over most obstacles.
